Today we turn our focus our attention to the most successful country act to ever come out of Canada. An artist that has sold more than 85 million albums world wide, more than any other female in country music history, placing her 55th on the all time, all-genre list. Not bad for an artist who, until this year, only produced 4 albums.

It has been nearly 15 years since the world was blessed with new music from Eilleen Regina Edwards, Shania Twain's last album was 2004's UP! After the album's release and subsequent world tour, the singer retired to her home in Switzerland. Unbeknownst to her fans, she had begun to lose her singing voice, and it was also beginning to affect her speaking voice.

After it became apparent that rest was not the cure, Twain consulted specialists at the Vanderbilt Dayani Center in Nashville. Doctors there discovered lesions on the singer's vocal cords, diagnosing her with dysophonia, which they treated with careful rehabilitation. The dysophonia was attributed to stress in Twain's life which stemmed from many sources, including childhood abuse, the death of her parents, her career and her well publicized 2008 divorce from husband/producer Mutt Lange.

In 2012 Twain returned to the concert stage, kicking off a historically successful residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. Her show, Still The One, ran for a total of 105 shows, and grossed of $43 million, selling a total of 346, 021 tickets during its two year run. With the itch of performing in front of a live audience under her skin, Shania embarked on her comeback tour, the Rock This Country tour in 2015.

The Rock This Country tour would be Twain's first in 11 years, and critics reported that Twain held it all together like she hadn't missed a day. She has mentioned the possibility of returning to Vegas for another residency after her new album is released. Of course, there has also been talk about another world tour in support of that album as well.

That album, Now, is scheduled for release on Sept. 29th, and we have the lead single in our spotlight today.
