Born in Masouche, Quebec, Canada, Tammy Wood began singing late in life, getting up on stage for the first time at age 21, strictly on a dare. She was out with friends one night, watching the band Country Dynasty perform, when the band asked the audience if anyone wanted to get up on stage and sing with them. Her friends dared her to get up on stage, and she felt brave and hopped up with the band and nailed it!

Stephen Drinkwater began playing guitar at the age of 14. Born in Sorel, Quebec, Drinkwater played lead guitar for several bands, playing everything from retro and classic rock and heavy metal in clubs and festivals around Quebec. Tammy Wood and Stephen Drinkwater met while working together, and immediately hit it off.

Their mutual love of music came to the forefront when Tammy was singing in a country band, and convinced Stephen to come watch them perform. He admitted to her he was not a fan of country music, but tagged along anyway. But, the minute he heard Tammy sing, he became a country music fan, asking Tammy the next day to introduce him to classic country music.

When Tammy was asked to sing at the office Christmas party in 2014, she asked Stephen to accompany her. He told her he couldn't, because he didn't own an acoutstic guitar; she simply replied "well, you need to buy one". The pair began writing and practicing together, quickly discovering their partnership was leading to more than one kind of magic. They became a couple, and started to spend more time together writing and performing together.

They took their first steps on stage together in May of 2015, their first show a benefit for  Multiple Sclerosis at a local Quebec club, Rendez Vous Chez Franky. Word quickly spread about the duo and local venues began lining up. In December the pair entered a recording studio together for the first time, armed with 12 songs they had written, and the result was their debut album Sylvan. Released in April, the album has met with critical acclaim.

The lead single from the album in our spotlight today. Tammy Wood and Steven Drinkwater and "Back In My Baby's Arms" is today's Unsigned/Indy Artist Thursday Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
