Today the spotlight falls on a trio who prove that blood is thicker than water, and family ties are always the strongest ones.

Reid, Neil and Kimberly Perry were raised in Mobile, Alabama and decided to form the family group after Reid and Neil had worked as roadies for older sister Kimberly's. The brothers began playing together as The Mobile Music Machines, mostly as an opening act for their sister.

They came together to formed The Band Perry in 2003 and came to the attention of Garth Brooks' manager Bob Doyle while touring with the New Faces Of Country tour in 2005. Doyle helped the trio put together demo recordings, which were sent to the head of Republic Nashville Records then-president Scott Borchetta. The Perry's signed with Republic Nashville in 2009.

The groups first single, "Hip To My Heart" failed to crack the top-20, but Republic has such faith in the three they produced a self-titled EP, releasing it in April of 2010. It featured the band's second single, the Kimberly Perry penned "If I Die Young". The song climbed to #1 on the country and AC charts, and #4 for on the top-40 chart. A string of top-5 hits followed, including "You Lie" and "Postcard From Paris" from the Perry's self-titled debut album and "Better Dig Two", "Done", "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" and "Chainsaw" from their second album, 2012's Pioneer. They were also featured on the soundtrack for Glen Campbell''s 2014 documentary Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, covering his classic "Gentle On My Mind".

The group is back in the studio, working on their third album, an as yet untitled project with pop producer RedOne (Lady Gaga, Enrique Inglesias). The first single from this project is our spotlight today; The Band Perry with the anthematic "Live Forever" today's Catch of the Day, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
