Today we feature an act whose three founding members met in college, coincidentally having the same last name, though only two of them are related. A who signed with Warner Music in 2012, but who is finally coming into their own, recently being added to many publications' "Ones To Watch" lists.

The Railers came into being when Jordan and Jason Lawson left their home in Missouri and headed to Flagstaff, AZ to attend Northern Arizona University, not knowing that they would meet a namesake, Arizona native Cassandra Lawson, but they would find what would prove to be the missing piece to their musical future. The trio began performing together around the NAU campus, but it wasn't until they performed an impromptu concert in Phoenix that the trio decided to go all in, finally moving to Nashville in 2004.

In Nashville, they were the typical struggling group, playing showcases, open mic nights and anywhere they could find an audience while holding down day jobs. Known at the time as Tin Cup Gypsy, the group added Indiana native  they landed the opening spot on part of Sara Evans' Fall tour, as well as her Christmas tour in 2010. In 2012 Oban departed the group and the Lawson trio rebranded themselves The Railers before signing with both Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Warner Brothers Nashville.

In September 2014, the trio released their debut EP The Railers: The Geraldine Sessions, which featured six songs that were recorded live in one recording session. The lead single for the project, "Kinda Dig The Feeling" was featured during the third season premiere of the TV series Nashville, and peaked at #49 on the country singles charts.
