Today's Catch of the Day spotlights an up-and-coming band out of Austin, Texas who recently signed with Big Machine Records.

Austin, Texas, natives Cody Cooper and George Birge met in sixth grade, started writing songs together the next year. forming their first band by high school. To pay homage to their hometown, as well as their theme of "firsts", the pair chose a fitting moniker. Waterloo is the name of their hometown before it was changed to honor the "Father of Texas", Steven F. Austin.

The pair put together a Kickstarter campaign to fund an EP, Little Lightening, enlisting Matt Noveskey to produce the project. Nearly a year later, the duo played those tunes during a showcase in Nashville, and were signed to Big Machine Records a week later, immediately making the move to Music City to begin the Waterloo Revival mission of reviving Austin music with the rest of the world and to return the spotlight to the Austin music scene.
