‘Catch of the Holi-Day’ – Phil Vassar with Kellie Pickler – “The Naughty List” [AUDIO]

It's Friday, and during the Holiday season, every Friday we'll be bringing you a brand new holiday tune that you will love during the upcoming season, and maybe add to your family's playlist for years to come. Today we bring you the pairing of one of the top songwriters is Nashville, known for high energy live shows, and a former American Idol contestant who now host not only her own reality show, but her own talk show as well.

Although he has scored 10 top-10 hits as a performer, Phil Vassar is primarily known in Nashville as a songwriter, having penned hits for Tim McGraw, Collin Raye, Jo Dee Messina, Alan Jackson and Neal McCoy. In 1999 he earned his first American Society of Composers Song of the Year award for "Bye, Bye", a #1 hit for Messina. Vassar was also named ASCAP's Songwriter of the Year for 1999. It was also the year Vassar would sign his first recording contract, with Arista Nashville, releasing his self-titled debut album in 2000, scoring 5 top-10 singles from the album, including his first #1 hit as a performer, "Just Another Day in Paradise".

And while Phil Vassar has succeeded in songwriting, Kellie Pickler has found her success on television. Originally brought into the spotlight during the fifth season of American Idol, where she finished sixth in 2006, Kelli Pickler has found success hosting on television. In 2013 she, along with Derek Hough, won the sixteenth season of Dancing With The Stars, she has been featured in her own reality tv series (I Love Kelli Pickler) and in 2017 debuted as the cohost of a daily talk show (Pickler & Ben). Pickler has released 4 albums since her Idol days, scoring one gold and one platinum album, and has had a lone top-10 hit, 2008's "Best Days of Your Life".

The two came together and recorded a new song for the 2017 holiday season, and we have that effort in our spotlight today.
