The COVD-19 pandemic continues to create not only health risks but all kinds of other problems as well. One of the biggest has been shortages caused by panic buying and the disruption of supply lines. Luckily S.W. Oklahoma hasn't been hit quite as hard as the places.

It's officially the turkey frying season! If you've never deep-fried a turkey it's a lot easier than you think. Just watch this quick 2-minute video and you'll be on your way to becoming a certified turkey frying master in no time!

It's one of the most iconic restaurants and burgers in the state, if not the Nation. Meers Store and Restaurant in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is a great place to eat and home to the world-famous Meers Burger. It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to visit Meers so I'm thinking this weekend the family and I will head out to the mountains to do some site seeing, hiking, and grab a late lunch or early dinner. If you've never been you're missing out their burgers are legendary, not to mention ABSOLUTELY HUGE!

Back in July we heard news that Oklahoma Legislators were working to end the sales tax on groceries. At that time they announced that they would be conducting a study to see what the possible impacts would be both positively and negatively for the state. Well they've done their research and it's looking like they'll be moving forward with it. Lawmakers will be meeting very soon to draft legislation to end the grocery sales tax.

You could be drawn for the hunt of a lifetime! Elk season will soon be here starting October 7th through the 10th then again on December 9th through the 12th. Applications are now being accepted for the City of Lawton's 2021 elk hunt.

It won't be long now before the new farmer's market in Lawton, ort Sill is open and ready for business. If you've been in downtown lately you've probably seen all the construction going on near the corner of Gore Blvd. and 4th street across from the police department, near library plaza in downtown. They broke ground on the new site back in November of 2020 and have been busy ever since building the new farmer's market. We might actually see it open sometime later this year if not early 2022.

It's one of mankind's most troubling questions, not to mention complaints. "Why are hotdogs sold in packages of ten and hotdog buns in a package of eight?" This question has plagued and puzzled us for years, maybe since the very beginning of man's recorded history. However, it's looking like we might actually see hotdogs and buns sold in even quantities...FINALLY!

Maybe they can work out some kind of joint-custody arrangement so everyone's happy.

I swear if it's not one thing it's another. When the hell is this "normal" everyone's talking about going to happen? Now before we go any further let me just say remain clam, there's no need to panic, all is well. Okay, maybe not everything is well, but it's not bad either. It's looking like there may be another shortage on the horizon and this time it's meat.
