The City of Lawton just announced that they will be reinstating their COVID-19 policies for face masks at all city owned properties. You'll be required to wear a face mask to enter all city owned facilities and proprieties where city employees work, or conduct business with the general public.

It won't be long now before the new farmer's market in Lawton, ort Sill is open and ready for business. If you've been in downtown lately you've probably seen all the construction going on near the corner of Gore Blvd. and 4th street across from the police department, near library plaza in downtown. They broke ground on the new site back in November of 2020 and have been busy ever since building the new farmer's market. We might actually see it open sometime later this year if not early 2022.

Over the past couple of days and weeks Oklahoma has seen a sharp increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. From what's been reported it's around a 90% increase when compared to previous weeks. It's suspected that around 190 plus cases are being reported per day. This has state healthcare experts concerned as the number of new cases continues to rise and the threat of the Delta Variant is looming.

The state of Oklahoma is facing a critical blood shortage and needs your help. Right now there's only a one day total supply of blood products. Typically there's a three to five day supply on hand, but it's been depleted and donors are needed to relish the supply. The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the primary causes of the shortage. Now that things are improving and people are starting to get back to their lives, so there's a real need for blood and blood products. Hospitals have returned to doing surgeries and elective procedures, this along with the standard need for blood has health experts worried.
