It's Oklahoma's first and only drone festival and expo, the Thunderbird Drone Festival in Woodward, OK. gets underway tomorrow (08-13-21) and runs through Saturday (08-14-21).
Kevin Costner and Modern West will be kicking off their "Tales From Yellowstone" tour in Ardmore, OK. on Tuesday, August 24th (08-24-21) at the Heritage Hall. If you've never had the opportunity to see him live you won't want to miss it.
There's a new movie coming out this Friday (07-30-21) staring Matt Damon called Stillwater that was filmed right here in Oklahoma. The new film will hit the silver screen and will hopefully be available for pay-per-view as well. Stillwater was directed by Tom McCarthy and was shot in several different locations around Oklahoma. The Sooner State has become a very popular place for filmmakers and we've seen more and more movies being filmed here over the past couple of years.
We have a new mural in Lawton, Fort Sill. Maybe you've seen it on the side of Ares State Armory located at 2210 W. Gore Blvd. How appropriate that this new mural that adorns the South side of the building is none other than Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo. With Ares being a gun store it's a perfect match. It's a great mural and has already started getting attention. I swung by today during lunch today to take a quick picture and there was already people there taking selfies and other photos.
May the 4th be with you. In honor of National Star Wars Day tonight the family and I will be watching all our favorites in honor of Star Wars day and in my house everyone seems to agree that "The Empire Strikes Back" is the best Star Wars movie. It still holds up after all these years! So what is your all time favorite Star Wars movie?
We finally got to see the epic showdown we've all been waiting decades for. A colossal battle between two heavyweights in a no holds barred fight to the finish. This one was for the fans and it delivered on every level! If you're a Godzilla fan, King Kong fan or both, you have to see "Godzilla Vs. Kong." It was released yesterday (03-31-21) on HBO Max and in theaters. I've waited for what seems like forever to see this and I have to say I loved the movie and in my opinion it's the absolute best film from the MonsterVerse franchise.
I have that entirely too damn excited, about to piss myself kinda feeling going on. We're talking virgin on prom night type anxious! The wait is officially over, we're finally going to see Godzilla Vs. Kong in all it's killer. kick butt, kauji glory! I've been waiting for this moment for seems like forever. Once the news broke that the studios were actually going to do the film, I've been on edge waiting to see it. This is going to be a true clash of the titans, no holds barred, anything goes fight to the finish and the movie fans have been waiting for!
All I have to say is "Snoochie boochies." Justin Hackney and Spreading PAINTS are at it once again. I was out yesterday afternoon driving down Fort Sill Boulevard heading to Roger's Lane and I saw another one of his incredible murals. This time it's the one and only Jay and Silent Bob! They've been immortalized in glorious black and white on the side of Blvd Smokeshop and Beerhaus located at 2601 N.W. Fort Sill Blvd.
We have a new mural in Lawton, Fort Sill thanks to the talents of Justin Hackney and his company Spreading PAINTS. You've seen his work all around town from the murals that have been painted at the Vaska Theater on Ferris Ave. to his Beatles mural on the side of Phillips Music Company on Sheridan Road. His latest masterpiece is one of my all time favorites, the one and only "Dirty Harry!"
