Vogue Model’s Shocking 13-Inch Waist Causes Stir [PICTURE]

There’s been a lot of controversy lately over models whose photos are airbrushed to make them appear ridiculously thin, but Vogue Italia can at least say the cover of its September issue didn’t involve any digital tricks.

That’s Stella Tennant, an actual real-live model. In a corset. That gives her a 13-inch waist.

Barbie and Ken’s Elaborate Wedding Album [PICTURES]

Wedding photography isn’t always terribly original — flip through the albums of a dozen couples and you’ll usually find many of the same shots and poses (hey, if it ain’t broke).

Over three days, de Guigne snapped photos as the plasticine pair readied for the big event, swapped vows, and celebrated at a reception.

World’s Smallest Origami Sculptures are Truly Amazing [PICTURES]

Origami, the Japanese art of folding paper, is impressive enough on its own, let alone when it’s done in miniature form. Yet that’s what artist Anja Markiewicz does, creating amazingly tiny sculptures of things like animals and snowflakes out of paper less than an inch in width.

Artists Makes Real People Look Like Paintings – And the Effect Is Way Eerie [PICTURES]

How would you react if a painting suddenly came to life? Alexa Meade‘s painted people look like works of art but move like humans — making for an eerie sight.

Whereas most artists would just paint their subjects on a canvas, Meade actually turns her subjects INTO the canvas. She creates life-size installations that are shockingly exact in their similarity to actual acrylic paintings. Upon first glance it’s almost impossible to tell that there are real people under all that paint.

Artist Brings Dead Trees Back to Life With Technicolor Paint Job

Artist Curtis Kilhorn is making it his mission to restore beauty to dead trees in the Colorado wilderness. Kilhorn paints their remains in a rainbow of bright colors, turning a dried-up tree skeleton into a technicolor conversation piece, and will install his creations in customers’ backyards. He says the intention of the installations is to remind people “of the splendor of the world around us” but we think it’s a righteous way to recycle. Mother Nature would be proud.

Butts of Beach Volleyball Stars Now Being Used as Ad Space

When it comes to sponsorship opportunities in pro sports, putting ads right on the athletes means more eyes on your brand. With NASCAR, sponsors can cover a whole jumpsuit with logos and slogans. But with a sport like beach volleyball, skimpy uniforms mean sponsors need to work extra hard to make an impact. Gambling company Betfair is getting more bang for their buck by putting scannable QR codes on the rear of players’ bikini bottoms.

Horsemaning – The New New Planking?

Last week we predicted that octogenarian Hugh Hefner’s embrace of planking would spell the end to the craze. Spinoff fads owling and leisure diving have failed to eclipse it, but could something called horsemaning be poised to rise up from planking‘s ashes?
