Not a huge surprise that last week's winner in our Country Song Showdown was the star that rocked the stage last night at our Taste of Country Christmas Tour, Dustin Lynch.

A mother in South Carolina named Debra Harrell went to jail earlier this month, charged with “unlawful conduct towards a child.” Whatever she did must’ve been well-deserved, right? Not so much. Harrell’s alleged crime: Her daughter was “left behind at a nearby park, for hours at a time.”

I was watching the ACM's "An All Star Salute to the Troops" the other night, which I thought was outstanding! When Lee Brice came out to sing his award wining song 'I Drive Your Truck' I thought "Put your dang baseball cap on the right way! It looks stupid." So, I posted that on my Facebook page and it started a pretty good discussion.

Watching cartoons with my granddaughter this weekend always make me admire the animated heroine's from the movies. I am drawn to the red head for some reason.  Maybe it's because of their fiery temperament, or strength.  I am not sure, but I do know that I prefer them over blondes...

I remember as a child living in a small two bedroom country home, just on the Oklahoma/Missouri line outside of Seneca, Missouri.   That wonderful smell of the tree that dad and I went out into the woods and cut down for Christmas, granted it was just a common cedar tree, but it gave a great sense of a the season and left a life long impression of what a Christmas Tree should be.
