The wait is almost over! Coming up a little later this week on Thursday, June 24th (06-24-21) at 10:00am the grand reopening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Greer Park tennis courts on 38th Street will take place. Everyone is welcome to attend the ceremony and rededication of the newly improved courts. If you've been by there lately you've probably seen all the construction and improvements the city has been making.
The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a bill earlier this week (SB-02) on Monday (04-19-21) that bans transgender girls from participating in women's sports. It passed the House by a (73-19) vote. The bill would prohibit biological male athletes from competing in women's sports in K-12 schools as well as universities.

Good news! The City of Lawton just announced that Lawton Recreation Centers will reopen today (04-12-21). It's been forever since we've been able to visit the rec-centers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it's been close to a year now at least. All 3 centers have reopened the H.C. King Center located at1705 NW 20th Street, the Owens Multipurpose Center on 1405 SW 11th Street along with the Patterson Center at 4 NE Arlington Drive.
