Chris Stapleton has been added to the performers at the upcoming 2016 Grammy Awards. The breakout country star will perform as part of a tribute to blues legend B.B. King.

Stapleton is nominated for Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Album and the all-genre Album of the Year for his critically acclaimed debut solo album, Traveller, and he's slated to perform with Grammy winners Gary Clark Jr. and Bonnie Raitt in tribute to King, who passed away in May of 2015.

Best Country Album, Song of the Year and Best Country Song nominees Little Big Town are also slated to perform on the broadcast, along with Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt, who will likely perform her current single, "Heartbeat," on which he makes a guest appearance. Hunt is nominated for Best Country Album and the all-genre Best New Artist category, while Underwood is nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for "Little Toy Guns."

It could be another career-altering night for Stapleton, who released Traveller to critical acclaim but relatively soft sales and radio support last year, but saw his stock rise immeasurably when he pulled off one of the biggest sweeps in CMA Awards history in November, winning Male Vocalist, Best New Artist and Album of the Year.

He topped it off with a star-making duet performance with Justin Timberlake that was the hands-down best moment of the night, and in the ensuing days Traveller rocketed to No. 1. Stapleton's new single, "Nobody to Blame," has been well-received at country radio as a result, and he is slated to tour with Hank Williams, Jr. beginning in August in a hotly-anticipated double bill.
