Chris Young underwent hand surgery on Friday (June 6) in Nashville.

On Thursday night, the singer had an accident in his kitchen, slicing his left hand while cooking dinner. He rushed to the hospital, and was expected to play his CMA Fest set at LP Field on Saturday (June 7), but unfortunately he's had to cancel.

Young had to have surgery to repair damaged tendons, and is unable to take the stage at LP Field. Thankfully, the singer was released from the hospital and is expected to fully heal.

The ‘Who I Am With You’ singer is no stranger to hospitalizations; last August, he had a leg infection and was hospitalized in Denver, returning to the road a week later. It's unclear how long it will take Young to take the stage after a hand surgery; after all, his hand is vital for guitar playing.

Young will join Dierks Bentley's Riser Tour in July.
