Tonight at the 2012 ACM Awards, after Carrie Underwood took the stage to perform her new single ‘Good Girl,’ hosts Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire introduced two-time nominee Chris Young, who got the crowd pumped with a live rendition of ‘Save Water, Drink Beer.’

It was really great to see Young really cutting loose onstage, and prior to the show, he expressed his excitement to perform ‘Save Water, Drink Beer’ at the 2012 ACM Awards. When asked about the song prior to his performance (via The Tennessean), Young said, ”It’s what we open our show with and it’s a whole lot of fun. It’s just a straight-up fast tempo song and it’s the first time I’ve gotten to perform one of those on one of these stages, something that’s fast and fun and kind of a party song. It will get everybody riled up.”

‘Save Water, Drink Beer’ (from Young’s 2011 album ‘Neon’) certainly did get everyone riled up, as the 26 year old worked the crowd, who pumped beer glasses in the air as Young rocked out with his band. Oh, and for the female fans out there, he looked adorable as always with his styled hair and denim shirt and jeans.

Young is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Single Record of the Year for ‘Tomorrow’ tonight at the 2012 ACM Awards. Stay tuned with Taste of Country to see if he wins big tonight!
