These Peanut Butter Cookies are my husband David's favorite. You can use chunky peanut butter if you would like but he prefers the creamy peanut butter. Mom has made these recipes so many times she doesn't need the list anymore!

Peanut Butter Cookies

Preheat oven to 350°

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup butter flavored Crisco
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 2 eggs

After two days of baking she's actually letting me put everything together. Although she paces the kitchen while the cookies are in the oven.  She says to me "Remember? Get the white bowl out and put your dry ingredients in it."

Cream the Crisco, peanut butter, sugars, milk, vanilla and 2 eggs together. Slowly add your dry ingredients until well mixed.

Form the dough into balls and roll them in a bowl of sugar.  Place the cookie balls on a cookie sheet and criss cross with a fork dipped in sugar.  Bake 10 to 12 minutes until done. Place on rack to cool.  ENJOY!

I am really cherishing the time I'm spending with my Mom this week. It's been fun having her mostly all to myself. The snow is piling up on the patio outside so it is the perfect day to stay inside and visit with my Mom.
