Daily Digital Download: Merle Haggard ‘America First’ [VIDEO]

I thought it only fitting to choose Merle Haggard for my Daily Digital Download today. He was honored last night with the Artist of a Lifetime Award at the CMT Artists of the Year special in Nashville.

Eric Church and Ashley Monroe were among those honoring Merle. The show also honored Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban for their accomplishments in 2014.

The song is off his 2005 album Chicago Wind. This album was released on October 25, 2005 on the Capitol Nashville label. It peaked at number 54 on the Billboard Top Country Album charts.
