Dozens of country music legends are undoubtedly saddened by the passing of songwriter Danny Morrison. The Nashville native died on Tuesday at the age of 67, after suffering a heart attack.

Amongst Morrison’s more well known hits were Kenny Rogers‘ ‘Blaze of Glory’ and Joe Diffie’s ‘Is it Cold in Here.’ “Miss you brother. Thanks for being part of my life,” Diffie wrote on Morrison’s Facebook page upon learning the sad news. Morrison also wrote hits for Alabama, Lee Greenwood, George Jones and Johnny Paycheck.

The Tennessean reports that Morrison was a well-known and lovable face in Nashville. “Danny was a very unique and creative individual,” his friend Tom Long, tells Music Row. “He had an inspiring wit, a huge heart, and a love for music and especially songwriters. He carved his own notch in Music Row history.”

Morrison’s son, Todd Morrison, has been sharing his favorite stories and videos of his dad’s songs on his Facebook page. The legendary songwriter’s earliest work included penning hits for George Jones (‘I’ve Seen Better Days’) and later, Reba McEntire. He also wrote for Razzy Baily, the Oak Ridge Boys and Waylon Jennings.

Morrison is survived by his wife, Sherri West. Visitation is set for Sunday (Feb. 19) at 2PM CT and Monday at 10AM CT at Phillips Robinson Funeral Home in Nashville. The funeral is schedule for Monday at noon.
