It's hard to find someone who doesn't enjoy a good holiday flick, especially Will Ferrell's charming 'Elf.' Darius Rucker even found a little inspiration in the Christmas movie!

The story of Buddy the Elf, who brings Christmas cheer while finding himself -- and love -- in a big city, is loaded with positive messages, but it was Zooey Deschanel's shower scene that encouraged Rucker to cut 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' with friend Sheryl Crow.

In the movie, Buddy overhears a shy woman (Deschanel) singing the duet to herself while bathing, and much to her surprise, he joins in.

“I decided to do ['Baby It's Cold Outside'] for one reason … for that movie and how great they did it when she’s taking a shower in the bathroom, and he comes and sits on the counter, and he’s singing along with her," Rucker tells CMT.

Rucker called on Crow to help him with the recording, as it's got room for two, and he couldn't be happier with the result.

“When we got Sheryl to come and do it … sitting there with her in the studio, right next to each other, singing it over and over and laughing and having a great time, I knew it was a great choice," he reveals.

Rucker's 12-track holiday album -- his first festive release -- is out now. Find the 'Elf'-inspired track in addition to classic favorites like 'Let It Snow,' 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' and 'White Christmas.'
