It is with our deepest sorrow to report that David Irwin, well-known Tyler philanthropist and managing partner of Tyler Ford has died.

David was a very charitable man who put the needs of others before his own. His passion extended to veteran's causes, Therapet, the East Texas Crisis Center, education at UT Tyler and much more.

For the past 16 years, David would personally search for a vehicle to purchase and restore to help raise funds for the East Texas Crisis Center. This past February it was a 1964 Mustang Convertible that was raffled during the East Texas Auto and Cycle show.

David has also been a wonderful partner with us at Townsquare Media Tyler | Longview both on air and with the Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival.

"Before Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival was anything more than an idea, David Irwin was on board. He was the festival’s first sponsor and one of its biggest fans and supporters," Chase Colston, Townsquare Media Longvew | Tyler Live Events Manager said. "We are grateful for his partnership, but most of all, his friendship. Our hearts and prayers go out to his wife, Tracy, his Tyler Ford family and the countless people who were directly influenced by his generosity.”

“We are profoundly sad to hear that our partner and friend, David Irwin, passed away this morning," Carleen Dark, Townsquare Tyler | Longview Market President, stated. "Our prayers and deepest sympathy and love goes out to his wife, family, friends, co-workers, and everyone whose life David touched.”

It was important to David to make a positive difference, and it is just one of the many reasons he will be missed. David was 52 years old.
