Three deployed soldiers from Fort Sill were decorated with a Bronze Star by General Martin E. Dempsey during a ceremony in Afghanistan. General Dempsey, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, awarded a total of 20 Military and one Civilian awards at a Ceremony at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan yesterday.
The Fort Sill soldiers awarded Bronze Stars are part of the 3rd Battalion, 13th Field Artillery and have been deployed since April 2012. Honors were given to:
Capt. Tony Fatula
1st Sgt. Jason Clayton
Staff Sgt. Raymond Mullins
While speaking to the soldiers following the ceremone, General Dempsey said, "Your most important Legacy is what you leave behind and that's your family, it's also your team mates, it's also the way you accomplish your mission, so on that basis, I want to thank you for your service and tell you how proud I am and God bless you and your families."
Congratulations to all three!
