Having just finished his final tour date of 2018 on Dec. 15, Devin Dawson’s thoughts can now turn to just how he is going to spend the holidays. And from what he says, a good portion of that off-time will be spent with his girlfriend Leah Sykes.

“My girlfriend and I are trying to have a week, or at least a weekend, off,” Dawson told Taste of Country during a recent interview in Chicago. “I haven’t had a weekend off since February, so we might go to Vermont and hole up in a cabin and ski in January and roast some marshmallows or something.”

Skyes and Dawson met while they both attended Belmont University in Nashville, and made their red carpet debut at this year's ACM Awards.

The down time is certainly deserved, especially since the next year for the “Dark Horse” hit maker looks as busy as ever. Dawson will not only be going out on an overseas tour alongside country duo Dan + Shay come January, but will also head out on an extension of his own Stray Off Course Tour, also in 2019.

“I’m going to be doing this for my whole life,” Dawson says. “I’m not going to be going anywhere and it's really cool to know that we are going to set our feet in this industry and conquer it.”

Joining him on tour will be label mate Jillian Jacqueline, who herself has also been quite the road warrior as of late, having been out on the road with Kip Moore. The two previously joined forces on the duet “I Can’t Trust Myself.”
