Dierks Bentley's new music video "Different for Girls" is ready for fan viewing, and with the talented and effervescent Elle King by his side, it's a must-see. Bentley debuted the clip on Todayand he also gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video, divulging how he deals with heartbreak and more.

The black and white music video was filmed in downtown Brooklyn. Bentley and King were on hand to perform the song for the clip, but a recently-broken-up couple kept the storyline going.

Since the song looks at the ways girls and guys handle breakups, the video simply narrates those differences. The girl cries on a bed while a friend consoles her, the guy hits the bar -- and ends up in a bar fight after hitting on another woman. However, fans need to watch the video fully through for a switch in roles.

"It's different for girls when their hearts get broke / They can't tape it back together with a whiskey and coke / They don't take someone home and act like it's nothing / They can't just switch it off every time they feel something / A guy gets drunk with his friends and he might hook up / Fast forward through the pain, pushing back when the tears come on / But it's different for girls," sing Bentley and King.

When he dropped "Different for Girls," Bentley explained why the subject captivated him so much. “The differences in how guys and girls deal with a broken heart is really interesting material to me,” Bentley explains. “Having two daughters certainly has changed the way I see the world and what they have ahead.”

He adds that King offered a “uniquely powerful but vulnerable voice” to the tune, and that “having her perspective really helps tell the complete story.”

While both singers obviously admire one another's talent, they also feel free to pick on one another like brother and sister.

"[King] handles things different than the way the girl does in this particular song," Bentley reflects. "I probably handle things differently than a lot of guys do. I take it pretty hard."

"He does it the girly way and I do it the manly way," King laughs.

She adds, "I get really nervous doing any kind of collaboration," then pauses, looking at Bentley and adding,"with such a weirdo."

King and Bentley recently performed "Different for Girls" at the 2016 CMT Music Awards which is lauded as "country's loudest night" in early June.

"Different for Girls" is from Bentley's newest record Black which gave him his best sales week yet of more than 101,000 units sold in its first week. Black is available for download on iTunes. More information about Bentley's upcoming tour dates can be found on his website.
