Dierks Bentley gives advice on how to write a song for a woman in the latest issue of Esquire magazine. He says, "Learn three chords -- G, C, and D. If they're good enough for Bret Michaels and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," they're good enough for you. And a really slow ballad is best."

Dierks traveled to Detroit with the magazine for a photo shoot and was challenged to write a song inspired by the phrase, "Last Night in Detroit." He came up with "Line Number-Seven," about the struggles of the city's autoworkers. The song, which is available on iTunes, benefits Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Detroit.
