While approval of all tiers of government has fallen over the past decade, it seems Americans are most dissatisfied with the federal government.

According to a new poll from the Pew Research Center of 1,514 adults, only 33 percent approve of the federal government.  In 2002, 64 percent approved or our leaders in Washington, DC.

Over that same time period, the approval rating for local government has fallen from 67 percent to 61 percent, and the percentage of Americans approving of their state government has dropped from 62 to 52 percent.

The gap between the approval rating of the federal government and that of state and local governments is now as wide as it has ever been.
