While domestic critics and international audiences have already been treated to their first screenings of Doctor Strange, many of us  —  myself included  —  are still waiting for our chance to see the movie in theaters. That means we’re still glued to our computer screens for every new photo, video, or audio clip that hits the web. I mean, did you listen to that track from the Doctor Strange score? That theme song is amazing!

(I don’t have a broader point with that — I just thought you should listen to the theme song again. It’s really good.)

That search for more clips has brought some of us to this video (via Heroic Hollywood) feature on Doctor Strange’s Cloak of Levitation. Sure, it might be from a Disney channel promo, but it does include a few extra shots of the good doctor in flight that we haven’t seen in any of the other trailers. It seems like Strange’s cloak operates somewhere at the intersection of the flying carpet from Aladdin and the demonic armor in Spawn, giving him the ability to fight unconsciously and, of course, fly around a bit. When you’re new to the whole ‘Master of the Mystic Arts’ thing, the mystic arts aren’t above giving you a set of training wheels to help you along the way.

If the internet can turn the inert Companion Cube into one of the most popular video game ‘characters’ of all time, surely the same can be said for a magical cloak with a mind of its own? These are the little touches that can make the Marvel universe so much fun; it’s good to see that Doctor Strange isn’t leaving humor and character idiosyncrasies entirely behind in its quest for a darker, more mature superhero movie. If nothing else, the Cloak of Levitation should make for a really fun addition to the next Lego Avengers video game, don’t you think?

As a reminder, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen, Benedict Wong, and Rachel McAdams and hits theaters on November 4, 2016. That’s next week, everyone! Go get your tickets now.
