Charley Pride tells a newspaper in New Brunswick that Dwayne Johnson will be playing him in a movie about his life.

Pride tells the Telegraph-Journal “it startled” him a little at first. But, he says The Rock flew to Dallas and spent a day with him “just sitting, talking recently.”

He says “when he left it was like parting with an old friend.” Pride says Terrence Howard originally was going to play him but he’s now tied up with other projects.

Charley Pride is touring Canada now. His interview was in advance of his May 14th concert in St. John’s, New Brunswick.
