The 2016 FarmBorough Festival has been canceled, just over a week after tickets went on sale.

Toby Keith, Jason Aldean and Tim McGraw were scheduled to headline the festival, which was slated to run June 17-19 at Randall’s Island Park in New York City. It would have the second year for the event, which became the first-ever country music festival in New York City when it debuted in 2015.

Brooks and Dunn, Thomas Rhett and Brantley Gilbert were also slated to perform in 2016, along with A Thousand HorsesBilly Currington, Lonestar, Kacey Musgraves, David Nail and Eric Paslay. Prospects seemed bright when the 2016 lineup was announced.

“Since the gates closed on FarmBorough last year we’ve been working towards today and how to come back even stronger than FarmBorough’s first year,” Live Nation President of Country Touring Brian O’Connell said in a press release. “Having the heavyweight power of such huge and distinct names as well as artists that I think will be the genre’s next big superstars on the bill helps ease the pressure a little bit of putting on a festival in the greatest city in the world. I can’t wait to get back out there and continue to make our mark on the Big Apple.”

The mark won't be made. Event organizers announced the cancellation in a post to the festival's Facebook page on Monday (Feb. 8):

FarmBorough Festival will not return to Randall’s Island Park in June of 2016.

All of us at FarmBorough Festival appreciate the support we have received, but conditions dictate that we redirect our energy at this time.
