Outnumber Hunger is a partnership between General Mills, Feeding America and Big Machine Label Group to help Feeding America secure millions of meals on behalf of local food banks. Hubbard and Kelley’s volunteer efforts took place on April 30, after an exclusive performance at Hill Country, a famous barbecue restaurant in Manhattan.
More than 49 million people in the United States struggle with hunger, according to the USDA, and Florida Georgia Line have been proud leaders in this year’s Outnumber Hunger campaign. In addition to appearing on 90 General Mills products, they’ headlined the Outnumber Hunger Live! concert last month, and appeared on shows like ‘The View’ to spread their message.
“Having campaigns like Outnumber Hunger and, in particular, volunteer events with stars like Tyler and Brian, really helps to shine a light on the issue of hunger and the importance of making sure that everyone have enough food to eat” says Lucio Guerrero, spokesman for Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization. “We know that we can’t solve hunger alone -– only together can we really work to solve hunger in this country.”
After helping pack boxes, the ‘Cruise’ singers talked to local food bank leaders about the work that goes in to feeding families in the NYC area and the efforts to eliminate hunger locally.
