Fort Sill Observes Fourth With Ceremony

Fort Sill will have it’s annual observance of Independence day at 9 a.m. today at McNair Hall.

Prior to the observance, “Uncle Sam” will lead a parade from Academic Heights to post headquarters. The salute battery will fire off howitzers as an announcer reads off the names of all 50 states and their dates of entry into the Union. The 77th Army Band will play “Oklahoma” when the 46th state is announced.

Everyone is invited on to the post for the ceremony. You can access the post through any gate with proper identification. Post authorities will direct you to McNair Hall.
