The unofficial end of Summer is rolling in this Labor Day Weekend.  Traditionally the final weekend before kids across the country are all back in school, and the new normal settles in for the cooler temperatures.  Here are some ways you can send Summer off with a bang this weekend.  We put a list together to make it just a bit easier for you to choose!

    4th Annual CSEF Benefit

    The 4th Annual Cache School Education Foundation Benefit Recital will be held Thursday, August 31st from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. EVERYONE is encouraged to attend this FREE family friendly event! Come out for an evening of beautiful chamber music! The recital will feature Cache Schools very own music faculty, Ben and Kelly Silber; Cameron University(Yiuka Spannagel) and Lawton Public Schools Music faculty (Billy Spannagel) and Sandy Greene. Performances featuring the flute, clarinet, soprano and piano. The event is FREE. DONATIONS FOR THE CONCERT WILL BE TAKEN TO BENEFIT CACHE SCHOOLS EDUCATION FOUNDATION (CSEF). Each year, the CSEF provides a great number of scholarships to many students. Additionally, they support teachers by providing classroom grants. This is a family friendly event. The recital is Thursday, August 31st at 7pm in the Cache Schools Auditorium. The Auditorium sits south of the Cache High School at 102 East “H” Ave in Cache!

    Lucky Labor Day Extravaganza

    The live music will feature Cody Canada & the Departed, The Damn Quails, Brandon Jenkins, the Brad Good Band, the Rodney Whaley Band and The Casey Abbe Band. The FREE music kicks off at 1 pm and wraps up at 11 pm with a huge fireworks show! And Cody, the Quails and Brandon will be signing autographs in the casino after their shows!     First Saturday Of The Month Kids Arts And Crafts Workshop

    For this Workshop the kids will be making homemade slime. This Workshop is a first-come-first-serve event. Once the supplies run out we will shutdown the workshop. This Workshop is geared towards school-aged children and is free to the public. Parents must stay with their kids and light refreshments will be provided. This Workshop is volunteer and we ask that the parents please clean up after their children.

    Historic Mattie Beal Home

    In the land lottery of 1901, in which the federal government opened southwest Oklahoma for settlement, the second name drawn was that of Mattie Beal. Her home is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  This 14 room, 2 story mansion is open to the public Thursday-Sunday from 12-3pm.
