Mornings and afternoons may be a little more difficult to come and go on Fort Sill, at least temporarily. On Monday, Key Gate West was closed at 9 a.m. and Tuesday, the 52nd Street Gate closed.

Fort Sill says the 52nd Street Gate is closed until further notice, while a comprehensive traffic study is conducted. A date has not been set for the gate to reopen. Key Gate West will reopen at 12:01 a.m. Thursday.

Sheridan Road's Bentley Gate will remain open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The gates at Fort Sill Boulevard and Apache will continue to be open during their normal hours. Ft. Sill command recommends that you plan trips on and off base accordingly.

In other Ft. Sill news, the largest basic training brigade in the Army welcomed a new command team on Tuesday. Soldiers from the 434th Field Artillery Brigade passed in review on the Fort Sill Polo Field as Colonel Jose M. Thompson formally passed command to incoming Colonel Lee Overby. During the ceremony, outgoing command sergeant major, Taylor Poindexter, also welcome his replacement by passing the guidon to the brigade's new top NCO, Command Sgt. Maj. Royal W. Curtis.
