Buried among the avalanche of death and destruction rolling through each Game of Thrones season, we can usually find one or two yearly cameos from famous musicians, athletes, or other such fans of the show. We’ve had one debunked for Season 7, but apparently a notable New York Met found time to enter the World of Westeros, that of pitcher Noah “Thor” Syndergaard.

So says the New York Post (h/t UPROXX), noting that the the 6′6″ pitcher “worked as an extra in an episode of the upcoming season of Game of Thrones… he flew to Spain last November to take part in the filming.” Syndergaard himself apparently confirmed the news over Twitter, as well:

Likely not unrelated, Game of Thrones also recently announced at least 19 Major League Baseball teams will participate in a cross-promotional partnership with HBO, the specifics of which are unknown.

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 7, a list of directors for the year has been announced along with rumors of some major set pieces and battles, while at least a portion of filming will take place in Iceland. Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent has been confirmed for a “significant” role (though apparently not UFC star Conor McGregor), while several notable returns have likely been revealed, and one recast.

We’ll hear more of Game of Thrones Season 7 in the coming weeks and months, but what other famous faces might pop up?
