There's great news for Garth Brooks fans north of the border. The country superstar has announced three additional dates in Winnipeg in response to strong ticket sales.

Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, were initially slated to perform just one show at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, June 18 at 7PM. But when tickets went on sale Friday (May 13), Brooks was obliged to make more seats available, ultimately selling  46,500 by the end of the day, with tickets now on sale for a total of four shows in that city. Brooks will now perform a run from Friday, June 17 to Sunday, June 19, with two shows scheduled on Saturday, June 18 to handle the overflow.

Tickets for all of the Winnipeg shows are still on sale via Ticketmaster and Ticketmaster Express, with an eight-ticket limit per purchase and each seat costing a total of $79.98. The same thing recently happened in Saskatoon; Brooks and Yearwood initially announced a single concert date at the SaskTel Centre for June 11, but quickly added five more concerts after tickets went on sale.

Brooks' comeback World Tour launched in late 2014, and it has been quite successful. Pollstar named Brooks the top touring country artist for the first six months of 2015, and he also ranked No. 1 on Forbes year-end list of the highest-earning stars in country music in 2015 after raking in $90 million, mostly from live performances.

Brooks plans to begin a new studio album soon, and he will share the making of that project via social media.

"We're gonna bring you in on making this album … songwriting sessions, everything from recording,” he revealed in a recent Facebook chat. “It’s gonna be a blast.”
