Happy Birthday to the Girl Scouts! They are celebrating their 100th birthday. For 100 years, the Girl Scouts have provided leadership opportunities to the young and eager.  Even the current Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, is a proud member of the Scouts.

The organization was founded by Juliette Low in Savannah, GE on March 12, 1972 with just two troops and 18 members. Today, the organization has more than 50 million members. And I am one of them. I wasn’t fortunate enough to start my Girl Scouts career as a brownie but rather as a junior.  While my sister and I were in Japan, we participate in a Girl Scouts camp, where we stayed with a Japanese family for a weekend. It was so much fun for us kids to have that opportunity!  Also, Girl Scouts are dear to my heart, because through the organization I received my first badge for photography. Many years later, photography still remains one of my greatest loves!

In my opinion one of the draws to become a Girl Scouts is that you have the opportunity to create friendships that last you a lifetime, and the other draw is the cookies! Yes, I did get to sell cookies when I was a child! Today, I buy them, and I love them just as much as I was a child.

According to a survey I took- Thin Mint- is my favorite! Now you can take our poll and tell us which one is your favorite!

Happy Birthday Girl Scouts!
