Has This Been the Best Summer for Movies EVER?
What about the summer of '75?
1975 brought us the blockbuster "Jaws". After seeing that movie I swore I would never swim in open water ever again. I didn't care if it was the ocean or Shadehill Reservoir I was not getting into the water again.
The Summer of 1977
Star Wars! Does any other movie even need to be mentioned?
I think my brother had every toy ever made.
There were so many this year. Who can choose just one? You have E.T., Rocky 3, Star Trek II, Poltergeist, The Thing, An Officer and a Gentleman, and Fast Time at Ridgemont High. I think I've seen all of them. I have to go with E.T. as my favorite though. Who couldn't love that bug eyed cutie?
How many times did you touch fingers with your friend and say "Phone home!"
The summer of 1984
Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Gremlins, The Karate Kid, and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. This was a tough one but I'm going with Gremlins. I wanted one after seeing the movie.
Remember, don't feed them after midnight and whatever you do...don't get them wet!
And finally, the summer of 1988
This seemed to be the year of sequels; Rambo III, Crocodile Dundee II (why they ever remade that movie is a mystery to me) , Bull Durham, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (considered the ground breaker for live action and animation combined). That's just a few from 1988. My favorite out of all of these was Big with Tom Hanks. I think I've seen that movie more than 20 times.
I'm sure somewhere in TV world Big is playing right now!
So, out of all these movies, which one is your favorite? Is there a movie you would like to see them remake?
