The Gallup-Healthways State of American Well-Being 2014 Obesity Rankings are out and Americans are continuing to get fatter. Last year's report had the obesity rate at 27.1, that number is now at 27.7. With the increase, where does Oklahoma sit on the obese scale. 

Oklahoma took the number 5 spot in the obesity rankings. According to the report out of all of Oklahoma's neighboring states, Texas, New Mexico and Kansas are less obese than the Sooner State. Arkansas was the only neighbor that was higher in the scale by being the 4th most obese state.

So who got the number 1 spot? Mississippi ranks as the fattest state in the nation with 35.2 percent qualifying as obese and was at the top spot last year. Not to mention the national rate of obesity was 27.7 percent in 2014, up from 27.1 percent in 2013 and significantly above the 25.5 percent recorded in 2008.

The report also shows that the leanest states are Hawaii, Colorado, Montana, California and Massachusetts.
