State Question 792 will officially be on the ballot in November. If passed, this means you will be able to buy wine and ice cold full strength beer at gas stations and grocery stores.

That's a pretty huge thing for consumers... but with the good comes a chance of bad. If passed, it could up the competition for your alcohol dollars, lowering prices, but it won't take effect until October 1, 2018. That's 25 months from today.

The Retail Liquor Association of Oklahoma pushed their own version of this law, that shares similarities, but differs in two key places. Distribution and the effective date. Theirs would have allowed these much needed changes July 1, 2017. Their suggested question will not, at this time, make the ballot in 2016.

Look on the bright side of things though. Oklahoma could be gearing up to join the rest of the world. Real beer. Adults buying wine with their groceries. Higher taxes on alcohol. An end to 3.2 beer production in the US. It's all predicted to happen, now we just vote, sit back, and wait.
