Jana Kramer is not shy about the struggles she and husband Mike Caussin have endured, and now she's opening up even more following the announcement that they're expecting their second child.

In an interview with People, the singer is honest about how the road to their second pregnancy was rough, experiencing a total of five miscarriages, including one in October of 2017 and another in February of 2018. She admits that having a positive attitude after experiencing such a devastating loss can be difficult.

“It’s hard because it’s like, ‘Have hope,’ but when you’re in that moment, hope is the hardest to find. It’s so hard not to [stress] when you want a family so bad," she explains. When she did get pregnant, “I didn’t want to tell a soul — even our family — because I just don’t want to go through telling people that we lost it."

Kramer and Caussin have powered through several life obstacles together, including Caussin's infidelity during their marriage, which led to a separation before getting back together.

The actress revealed in an Instagram post in December that she and Caussin had traveled to Hawaii to renew their wedding vows. She feels they're now in a solid place as a couple, ready to welcome their second child.

“The first time was tough. He was going through his thing that I didn’t even know about, but this time around he’s truly been the greatest support system I could’ve ever asked for," she says, adding that they've put a lot of effort into improving their relationship. "It just feels so much more unified and I love that.”

The new baby will join older sister 2-year-old-Jolie, with the couple revealing the news in June of 2018 via Instagram with a photo of the family sitting on a couch and a sign that reads "Only child expiring November 2018" perched next to them. The newest member of the Kramer-Caussin family is due in November of 2018.
