As 2012 draws to an end, a very busy Jason Aldean has finally found time to reflect on a turbulent year. Despite his personal setbacks, the country superstar hopes to end his year on a personal high note -- spending the holidays with people who matter most to him.

"I'm on the road so much during the year, so what I look forward to the most is being home with my family, " Aldean says.

Of his most anticipated Christmas traditions, the country superstar is most eager to do things like "taking the girls to the mall to shop or to see Santa Claus," admits the devoted father of two daughters.

The singer adds, "Things that simple to me are really cool."

Though 2012 will end on a high note for 'The Only Way I Know' singer, Aldean is quick to point out that it wasn't simple easing back into his normal routine. Even with a well-publicized fling with a woman that was not his wife, the singer says his personal life is in a good place.

"This year, the tour went really well, the album has done really well, and good stuff has definitely outweighed the bad," Aldean says. "All that other stuff is kind of in the past and we're just looking to have a great year in 2013."

The country superstar released his fifth studio album, 'Night Train,' earlier this year, selling a staggering 409,000 copies in the first week of sales. The platinum-certified project features the No. 1 lead single, Take a Little Ride,' as well the the current Top 15, 'The Only Way I Know,' which features Luke Bryan and Eric Church.

The newly-appointed American Country Awards Touring Artist of the Year will resume his headlining responsibilities on Feb. 21, 2013 in Bossier City, La.
