Country music newcomer JoLivi has just released her debut country single, but she'll also be drawing attention for a series of covers that includes an acoustic version of Eric Church's "Talladega."

The Hawaiian-born singer-songwriter had a previous career in pop, releasing two EPs and three singles. Her music has garnered more than a million views on YouTube, and "Talladega" is part of a new series she has filmed and titled the Country Live Sessions. Click the video above to see JoLivi cover Church's "Talladega" in the studio with her road band, bringing her own slant to the song, which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart when Church released it as the fourth single from The Outsiders in 2014. JoLivi's version is premiering exclusively with Taste of Country.

JoLivi also recorded acoustic versions of three other country hits: "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum's "American Honey" and "Smoke" from A Thousand Horses. Sample JoLivi's music via her YouTube page.

The singer debuted her first country single, "Take a Shot," via the Boot recently. According to her biography, she co-wrote the upbeat drinking song with her producer, Mark McKee, after she decided to add country music to her live shows.

"I don’t know why I waited so long,” JoLivi says "'cause this feels so right."
