Is a duet between country's edgy star Kacey Musgraves and pop Grammy winner Sam Smith in the works?

After racking up the gold at Sunday night's (Feb. 8) 2015 Grammy Awards, Smith was asked who he'd like to work with next and he named the "Follow Your Arrow" singer.

The pop singer first gained international success with his smash hit "Stay With Me," and his popularity continued to grow after he released "I'm Not the Only One." Smith was nominated for a total of six Grammy Awards this year, and he walked away the night's big winner with a total of four! Even though country isn't his game, the star has expressed serious interest in collaborating with country's own Musgraves.

"I like Kacey Musgraves, the country singer," Smith tells E! Online. "She's great. That would be great."

The feeling is mutual. After E! Online's Marc Malkin tweeted to her about Smith's interest in recording, Musgraves responded, saying she's be happy to collaborate:

If the duet does happen, it wouldn't be the first time that Musgraves stepped out of the world of country to do something with a huge pop star. She teamed up with Katy Perry for an episode of CMT Crossroads, and that was just the beginning of their musical friendship. Musgraves went on to join Perry's tour, and despite their different styles, it went well.

Keep your ears peeled for a legendary duet from Musgraves and Smith. It's bound to happen!
