Now in his second season as a judge on ‘The Voice,’ Blake Shelton must have achieved expert status by now. Or at least, that’s what Keith Urban thinks. Nervous about his own coaching capabilities on the newly-released Australian edition of the show, Urban is now armed with Shelton’s cell phone number — that might be all he needs to earn celeb status as a reality television star.

It only makes sense that Urban would reach out the Shelton for help. After all, on his first season of ‘The Voice’ in 2011, the ‘God Gave Me You’ singer was the runner-up coach when his final team member, Dia Frampton, earned a second place win on the show.

According to CMT News, Shelton was actually surprised that his fellow country crooner sought his help.

“He said, ‘Man, I need to talk to you,’” Shelton told CMT Insider host Katie Cook. “And I was like, ‘Why?’ And he goes, ‘Man, this show’s about to start airing, and we’ve already done the blinds and the battle rounds.’ And I said, ‘We do need to talk because you’ve never experienced that kind of polarizing reaction from people. You know what I mean? Because people do get invested in a person, and it’s one thing if America votes somebody off the show, but it’s another thing if they can point to the one person that did that.’” Shelton added, “There’s never a right decision to make on those.”

Even Shelton admitted that the battle rounds are his least favorite part of ‘The Voice.’ As we’ve learned, the country crooner is such a nice guy that he just can’t stand to vote anyone off the show, as he considers them like his little ducklings.

Tune in to NBC on Mondays at 8PM ET to catch the American version of ‘The Voice.’ If you want to see Keith Urban in action, you can sift through some recaps here.
