Kelly Clarkson made a name for herself as a pop singer, but her recent cover of Tracy Chapman's 1996 hit "Give Me One Reason" suggests that she could have a future in the blues. During a visit to SiriusXM, Clarkson performed a cover of the iconic song. Her rendition was soulful, powerful and haunting.

Like the original tune, Clarkson's version was soulful and blues-infused, but she added an extra layer of depth and spirit. Watch the video above to hear Clarkson's beautiful performance. Throughout the years, Clarkson has covered songs from a host of artists ranging from Katy Perry to Eminem, but her cover of Chapman's "Give Me One Reason" was especially powerful and poignant. It was the perfect ode to the rich and vibrant power of blues music.

In addition to covering Chapman's classic hit, Clarkson has been staying busy with her own music. The American Idol winner released her newest album, Piece by Piece, on Feb. 27. Released through RCA Records, the album is her seventh studio album and the follow-up to her first Christmas album, Wrapped in Red from 2013. "Heartbeat Song," the first single from Piece by Piece, became a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The supporting Piece by Piece tour will kick off in July 2015.
