Remember when Kenny Chesney said he'd only play one stadium show in 2017? Well, that wasn't quite accurate. He will, however, only play one stadium in 2017.

Only a few days after announcing a concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. -- the show that Chesney said would be his only stadium concert of 2017 -- the country superstar has announced a second Gillette Stadium show, set for Aug. 26. Chesney's previously announced Gillette Stadium concert is set for Aug. 25.

“I just wanted to say how excited I am that we’re adding a second night to Gillette Stadium, this coming summer ...," Chesney says in an Instagram video announcing the news. "We're really excited; it's gonna be a fun two nights!"

As with his Aug. 25 show, Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion will join Chesney for the newly announced concert. A pre-sale for No Shoes Nation fan club members will be available beginning at 10AM ET on Nov. 30; both Gillette Stadium shows will go on sale to the general public on Dec. 2 at 10AM ET. Further details are available on KennyChesney.com.

"From the beginning, the amount of heart and soul that came at us from the first note at Gillette was beyond intense. It’s never let up, it’s never slowed down. Every summer, every show, every song, they push us even harder than we push them," Chesney says. "It’s kind of addicting, and something I can’t imagine a summer without."

Chesney, who is known for his massive summer stadium tours, recently revealed that he will be scaling down his live dates in 2017.

“We’re going to pull back just a little bit [from the road] … [W]ith the new music, I want the fans to digest it and let it seep into their lives a little bit,” the singer says. “So, next year, we’ll do five or six shows — we don’t know how many yet — but other than that, we’ll let this new music find its way. Then, the next year, we’ll crank it up again.”

Chesney’s 2017 tour calendar currently has only a handful of dates on it. In addition to his Foxborough stops, he’ll headline the 2017 Tortuga Music Festival in April and headline Country Jam 2017, which is also set for June.
