Just 24 hours after the biggest night in country music, three country artists received big honors at the 2011 Billboard Touring Awards. Joining rock greats like U2 and Journey, country stars Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift received acclaim at the 8th annual awards, which were held at New York’s Roosevelt Hotel.

Chesney won Top Package for his Goin’ Coastal Tour with Zac Brown Band, Uncle Kracker and Billy Currington. The tour, which ran from March through August of this year, came after Chesney’s yearlong touring hiatus in 2010.

Aldean was the recipient of the Breakthrough Award, after winning his first two CMA Awards just one day before. Swift, the reigning Entertainer of the Year, took home the award for Concert Marketing and Promotion for her Covergirl-sponsored 2011 Speak Now World Tour, which is still on the road headed through Florida and the Carolinas.

Calculated based on global box office numbers acquired by Billboard Boxscore between Oct. 1, 2010, and Sept. 30, 2011, the Billboard Touring Awards take a moment to shine the spotlight not only on the performers but on the hundreds of people who make their tours a reality.
