Kip Moore Enjoys the Rush of Performing for Crowds That Know His Music
After a whirlwind spring on the road with Billy Currington and David Nail, Kip Moore must be feeling bittersweet about the tour ending. The opportunity to open for both hitmakers was something Moore was especially fired up about.
“I’d been out with Billy several times, but I hadn’t been out with David much,” Moore tells Taste of Country. “Billy and I have always had a great time, and the three of us had a blast.”
But what was even cooler about the tour was the fans. “Going out doing a show where people know my music, I’m seeing more and more people who have watched my stuff online and they’re calling out songs … stuff that’s not even on the record,” Moore says, beaming. “To be going out doing a tour where I have a song that everybody knows … that’s getting more and more fun to play that song every time because I can tell it’s getting bigger and bigger.”
That “song” Moore is referring to is his infectiously catchy hit ‘Somethin’ ’Bout a Truck,’ which enjoyed a bout atop the charts. The song’s success has made a major impact on Moore’s life and live shows, and even landed him a few TV appearances.
