Christmas can be a bleak child for children of lower income families. That's why the Lawton Fire Department is working to bring the community together at this time of year. The LFD kicks off the Christmas for Kids toy drive this Saturday, December 10th, with a their "Coffee and Cars" event, taking place at the Cache Road Shopping Center, 3801 NW Cache Rd in Lawton, that's the corner of Cache and 38th.

Later in the day, the event will move to Freedom Fitness, 4413 Cache Rd. Freedom Fitness will be hosting another toy drive, this one getting under way at noon. And then at 7pm, the third leg of the toy drive will get underway at the Cameron University men's basketball game, running simultaneously with another toy drive taking place at the Lawton RC Raceway, 7807 SE Lee Blvd.

The Lawton Fire Department asks that you bring one or more unwrapped 'Toys for children up to 12 years of age. Toys donated will be distributed on the 15th, 16th and 17th.
