Little Big Town’s lead single from their upcoming album Painkiller, ‘Day Drinking’, is similar to everything from their ‘Tornado’ album in that it’s not similar to anything else on the radio. The foursome kicked off the recording sessions for the upcoming album by laying down the lead single, using a different manner than normal for the group. In an effort to capture a live party vibe, they recorded their vocals as the band played the song in the studio.

According to LBT's Phillip Sweet, "We had some sound partitions, but we were all experiencing it in the same room."

While Little Big Town is excited for fans to hear the rest of their new music, they knew all along "Day Drinking", which was debuted with an incredible performance at the recent CMT Awards Show, would be the lead single from their forthcoming album. Sweet further stated that the day the band recorded the song in the studio was one to remember. "When we got done with everything, it still stood out as the one,"  he says. "There was a sixth sense about it."

The reigning Country Music Association Vocal Group of the Year will be performing live at the Ft. Sill Polo Fields on Saturday, July 5th with special guests Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown and The O’s.  Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:45 p.m.
