Loretta Lynn will reunite with a seemingly unlikely musical collaborator in January. The country legend is set to open for former White Stripes front man Jack White at his gig at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Jan. 28.

The pair first worked together on Lynn's 2004 comeback album, 'Van Leer Rose,' which was one of the most acclaimed country albums of the decade. White produced the record, which won a Grammy for Best Country Album. One of its songs, 'Portland, Oregon,' also won for Best Country Collaboration with vocals.

The news comes at a time when Lynn is experiencing another career revitalization at the age of 82. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom last year, and she received a lifetime achievement award for songwriting at the Americana Music Honors & Awards in September.

Lynn performed her classic hit 'You're Lookin' at Country' with Kacey Musgraves at the 2014 CMA Awards, and she also announced a new record deal in November. She will deliver a series of albums for Legacy Recordings beginning in 2015, focusing on new songs, as well as new recordings of some country classics and even new renditions of her own classic catalog.
